The following is a summary of the major additions and changes since our opening in 1973. There have been hundreds of smaller changes along the way!
1974: Mike and Sandy added a vacant store next to their existing space, bringing the fitness center up to 2000 square feet and added a second line of Nautilus equipment.
1978: Mike and four partners opened All Sport Fitness and Racquetball Center in a brand new 25,000 square foot building at its present location on Route 9 across from Marist College. Mike closed the smaller fitness center, incorporating it into the new building. The new building included 8 racquetball courts, a fitness center, and restaurant.
1980: Another court was added to the west-side of the center, with an outside deck on top for restaurant customers.
1983: A free weight room was added and an enlarged childcare room built on the center’s lowest floor.
1984: The indoor pool and basketball gym were added to the east side of the center.
1985: A lot on Route 9 was purchased and the lower parking lot was added.
1987: An aerobic room was added and an additional 800 square feet was added to the fitness center.
1993: The aerobic room was increased to 2400 square feet and an additional 2400 Square feet was added to the fitness center, extending it to the pool wall.
1994: All Sport Poughkeepsie becomes a sole proprietorship again as the last of the partners stock is re-purchased.
1995: The three houses on the east side of the club were purchased. The back yards of the houses became an addition to the upper parking lot. This added another 45 parking spots.
1998: Our childcare facility was relocated to the upper level, and an additional women's locker room was added.
1999: A three story, 9,000 square foot addition on the West Side of the Center is added, giving us additional space in the fitness center and doubling the size of the free weight room.
2002: All Sport of Ulster opened.
2002: Two of the houses on the east-side of the Poughkeepsie center were taken down and more parking was added.
